Paris Fashion Week SS 2010...Julia and Carine

Mama and Daughter: Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Carine Roitfeld before Louis Vuitton last season.

Paris Fashion Week SS 2011....Marie-Victoire

Illustrator, Marie Victoire de Bascher, from With a Twist blog outside Chanel.Love those gorgeous red heels! A well turned ankle is de rigueur ;)

Running With The Fash Pack....Paris Fashion Week SS 2010

An old photo I found in my archives from last September: adore her hat and that little bit of sparkle on her striped top. Not to mention her perfectly tousled hair......
Outside Chloe.

Paris frocks :)

Running With The Fash Pack...Paris Fashion Week SS 2010

Adore her hair and little plaited chain headband.

Running With The Fash Pack...Paris Fashion Week SS 2010

Love her lace-up peep-toe boots, corset-style belt and high-waisted skirt.

One of the things I enjoy so much about taking street style photos is taking inspiration from what someone is wearing: it might not be that I would ever try to replicate an entire outfit but I might pull out that turquoise necklace buried deep in my jewellery draw that I had completely forgotten about (like hers), or resurrect a wide, riveted belt languishing on the floor of the wardrobe (belts always manage to slip off my hangers!). From the blog comments I have been getting from you guys, I think most of you are the same: we might not necessarily like everything that someone is wearing but there are, in most cases, little elements that we might think "ooooo, lovely, I'll try wearing that tomorrow".

Fashion journalist and creator of the fabulous PRISM glasses (she is wearing the Rio in cream tortoiseshell in the photo, I think), Anna Laub. You can check out Anna's blog here and find out more about her cool glasses here.

Mmmmm given that I do actually wear "proper" glasses (i.e. I need them to see anything further than a metre away!), a pair of these would be an investment buy (as opposed to a "I just want them now" buy), no?

Wintery creamy-whites outside the Hermes show in Paris. Adore her hair.

The ever-gorgeous, effortlessly stylish Eva Fontanelli of Italian Elle. I love Eva's style.....always on-trend but kind of quirky at the same time.

Running With The Fash Pack...Paris Fashion Week SS 2010

The lovely Charlotte Pini outside the Chloe show. Charlotte has her own label (her little camel tank is her own design) and she was wearing Viktor&Rolf open-toed red patent pumps and Marithé+ François Girbaud trousers.

Running With The Fash Pack...Lace+Neon

Adore her neon pink clutch, the pretty lace inserts on her dress (and the little swishy tassels on her wrists) and her platform mary-janes.

This outfit ticks so many boxes for me....timeless, classic but a little-bit-sexy (do you note the tinest bit of bra* peeking out of her shirt? and the little ankle zippers on her jeans?), all of the pieces can be worn summer or winter (take off the tights and maybe the blazer for summer, or replace the shirt with a crisp white tank when it is desperately hot; add a cape or coat for winter), and everything will still look good (provided you don't fluctuate too much in weight which, of course, the Parisian woman does not!) for years to come. Parfait!

*I bet it's probably a gorgeous, frothy creation from Chantal Thomass or Sabbia Rosa :)

Nothing better than wrapping oneself up in an oversized chunky-knit cardi on a windy, wet winter's day. Cozy-chic.

Running With The Fash Pack...Paris Fashion Week SS 2010

Adore this Chloe bow-backed dress and Kira bag (outside the Chloe show in Paris!)

The stunning Clémentine outside Louis Vuitton.

p.s. I am taking a little blogging break of about 2 1/2 weeks (hence the furious uploading these past couple of days!) to go have some adventures (and hopefully take some pics :). I won't be blogging during that time but I will be checking email periodically (yep, I am one of those 0.00000000000000002 % of the population that doesn't have an iPhone or a blackberry) so if you want/need to contact me just send me an email.

p.p.s. Thanks again ever so much for all your comments, emails and encouragement over these past few weeks- you guys are great. Normal transmission (including replying properly to comments) will resume shortly :)

The oh-so-beautiful model/photographer/blogger Hanneli Mustaparta. She is an absolute dream to photograph AND just so nice as well (we like that :)) If you haven't checked out her blog then DO IT! Click here for the link.

p.s the dress is Rad Hourani and the bag? Alexander Wang.

Charles Guislan, 16. If you purchased the latest LOVE magazine (Issue 2) you would have seen Charles in a beautiful story ("Bloodline") photographed by Mert Alas&Marcus Piggott and styled by Katie Grand.

I photographed Charles outside the Giles show last Thursday.

Neutral palette and distressed leather outside Chloe.

Julia at Chloe (see the little badge on her cardi?)

Wow, could she move FAST!! She was like a super charged Energizer bunny :)))

How lucky are all these little kids to go to the shows? When I was only a little Vanessa the absolute highlight of my year was the RAQ fashion awards which used to be held in Brisbane, Australia. They were televised and I would literally glue myself to the couch on the night they were shown and NOBODY was allowed to interupt my viewing. Balenciaga, Lanvin, Chloe...pffffff! You should have seen our Daniel Lightfoot, Kerry Craig and Anthony Leigh Dower!
